The most popular thing to do in Peru is to visit Manchu Pichu, and the second most popular thing to do is to hike The Inca Trail to Manchu Pichu.
They don't allow people to hike the trail on there own these days. You have to go with a guide on the trail. The basic package offered is a guide and porters; who set up the tents, cook great food, and carry everything but your sleeping bag and personal things.
The trek takes 4 days and follows old Inca stone paths that lead through many Inca ruins before you get to Manchu Pichu. It is a nice hike, but don't expect to ever be alone. The trail always seems to be packed with people and porters...

Nice to hear from you, and yes I am jealous as I really want to go to Manchu Pichu some day. But I had a look at you pics and you I see you are seeing some beautiful scenery.
When you get your pictures of Manchu Pichu posted I will have to have a look at them. Well I better get back to this Shaw Barlow that someone left for me to complete (LOL)
